Glove Sizing Guide
Measuring Glove Size
Use your dominant hand and a flexible tape measure (or a piece of string) for the most accurate fit.
-
1
Open your dominant hand
If you are right-handed, use your right hand. If you are left-handed, use your left hand.
-
2
Measure around the palm
Wrap a tape measure (or string) around your palm to measure the full circumference.
-
3
Go over the knuckles
Pass the tape over your knuckles and return to your starting point.
The reading on the tape is your glove size. If you use string, mark it, lay it flat on a ruler, and measure in inches.

Debutante Glove Care
- A little powder in an unlined glove makes it easier to put gloves on and remove them.
- After wearing, remove gloves carefully, pulling the finger and thumb back in shape. Press the gloves flat with the warmth of your hand.
- To remove most unwanted surface dust, rub gently with a fresh art gum eraser or a fresh white eraser.
- For long-term storage, wrap gloves in a clean cloth or pillowcase and lay flat in a dresser drawer.
The Etiquette of Gloves
- Kidskin gloves should be kept on when shaking hands in a reception line or when dancing.
- Kidskin gloves may be worn while drinking, or may be partially removed to avoid staining.
- Men's and ladies' wrist kidskin gloves should be removed for dinner, and then put back on when dinner is over.
- Kidskin glove removal should not call undue attention to the process.
- Debutante kidskin gloves can be partially removed for dinner. The wrist opening should be unbuttoned and the hand pulled through the opening. The empty glove hand can then be rolled neatly to the wrist, and either tucked in at the wrist or under a bracelet.
- After the ball, debutante gloves can be worn gathered down below the elbow with a favorite winter outfit.
